Am I eligible for a free gift?
You are eligible to apply for a ‘gift’ if you are currently receiving treatment for cancer OR are in the first year following the completion of your treatment (treatment includes either surgery, chemotherapy or radiotherapy).
Applicants with a secondary or a life limiting diagnosis can continue to apply for gifts each year.
How do I apply?
You can simply apply by clicking on the ‘apply for this gift’ button on the gift of your choice. You are required to upload formal photo ID (not a selfie or photo) and to upload a scanned copy of any letter from oncology, confirming your diagnosis. If you do not have a letter, you can print off a downloadable medical declaration form and get your oncology nurse or oncologist or any medical professional that would be able to confirm your cancer diagnosis. They will need to fill it out, sign, date and stamp the form. You can then upload this proof along with a picture of your ID through our website, and then you application will be complete. Please note, if you upload your oncology appointment card from QEH, we will still need to get the completed medical declaration form signed off by a doctor, before we can make a
decision to approve the gift. This can be emailed at admin@belovedcharity.org or uploaded on the website.
Once we have received it, we will be in touch with you to let you know whether it was successful as we may have others who have also applied for the same gift. We will be in touch within a few days. How will I receive my gift?
There are a variety of ways of receiving your gift. Some gifts are sent by post, some may be emailed, or you may pick up your gift at a venue. We will inform you of the process via email.
How many gifts can I apply for?
‘Main Gifts’ tend to be larger, one-off experiences with a high value including holidays. You are eligible to receive up to 1 ‘Main Gift’ however an application does not always guarantee you will be allocated the gift. These can be found and applied for on our ‘Main Gifts’ page.
‘Additional Gifts’ tend to be smaller, regular or lower value gifts including restaurant meals or special family days. You are eligible to receive up to 2
Additional Gifts’ per year however an application does not always guarantee you will be allocated the gift. ‘Additional Gifts’ can be found on our’ ‘Additional Gifts’ page.
Applicants with secondary cancer or with a life-limiting cancer prognosis can continue to apply for a main gift.
Sometimes we get donated several of the same gift or last-minute tickets for shows and events. These are known as Extra Gifts. You are eligible to apply for as many of these extra gifts as you like per year. Just remember, an application for these gifts does not guarantee getting the gift. Sometimes many people apply for the same gift. We will let you know if your application has been successful. You can apply for an extra gift by clicking on the apply button and following the instructions. Please DO NOT contact the company who is kindly donating the gift, until you have received a confirmation email from us stating that you have been successful with your application. Doing this will make you ineligible for the gift and any other gifts in the future.
